News outlets report you can vividly see the aurora borealis ("Northern Lights") because of a solar storm. Earth is experiencing a solar storm. Solar storms impact and change the Earth's electromagnetic field. Florida saw the spectacle. I believe the expansive light show was experienced this far and wide more due to the extensive water vapor trapped in the Earth's upper atmosphere. When water vapor is hit with light, it produces the rainbow effect.

The extensive water vapor in the Earth's atmosphere is being trapped. The Sun's UV index or what the sun feels like at the ground level has increased. If you work in agriculture or grow your own food, then you probably are aware of the increasing intensity of the sun. The Earth's soil is being pumped of its moisture and the moisture must go somewhere. The water vapor goes from higher to lower concentration. What I do know for sure is that these trends will hurt the sustainability of life on Earth as we know it. Can anyone say "pressure cooker"?
